and right now we're seeing some car sharing services that are experiencing problems with the california p.u.c. we need to make sure those services have a path to being acknowledged as legal and appropriate. we also need to make sure that we're creating enough spaces for our car sharing service providers. we're seeing in some parts of the city with the disappearance of gas stations and disappearance of surface parking lots with some of the most productive ways of providing car sharing spots that it's becoming harder and harder for car sharing companies to actually find spots. and i commend mta for its on-streetcar sharing program. i think that could be terrific. i think we have a ways to go before we can get there. i also have legislation pending to amend the planning code, take away right now the disincentive we have to apply the developers to put adequate car sharing spaces in their developments. we actually make it extremely hard, particularly for smaller development to put car sharing spaces in their buildings. this legislation we're sponsoring will address that problem. i make these

even a reported tornado down near bakersfield, california. the other thing, of course, we're following is all of the severe reports right here in the bay area. lightning early this morning in san francisco and oakland. multiple strike there's. even hail that covered parts of 101. i drove through that right through the san francisco airport. and there was a multiple car accident. dangerous. and winds atop 40 miles per hour with at least 900 outages at its peak this morning. also, some very rare snow down to about 2500 feet at mt. hamilton. that's at the elevation of 4,360 feet. let's show you some of these pictures. you can see not only the snow, but the roads very icy as it provided a light dusting. officially only 1 inch reported. but in some areas slightly higher accumulations. none the less, it looks really beautiful up there. and a signal that we are finally getting the weather pattern to change. you can see a few hours of showers developing off to the south. we are going to be tracking that, along with the very cold temperatures gripping

all over the northern part of california. the current radar shows some activity just off of half-moon bay. you can see what's happening. it really is light stuff at best. we did have a thunder shower earlier this afternoon. those showers have since died down. now what's left behind is this cold air. there's a frost advisory in effect for northern counties. that's just sort of underscores how cold it's going to get here. i wouldn't be surprised if we saw a frost advisory here maybe tomorrow morning. more likely like sunday morning. overnight lows tonight are going to be freezing or near freezing in the coldest inland valleys. it's late afternoon and napa is almost in the 40s. you know it's going to be cold tonight. we know the mountains got snow. anywhere from 6-inches to a foot of snow. no chains chain required right now. that winter weather advisory they extended. if you have travel plans, not so worried about the heavy snowfall but you're getting into the icy conditions. it's going to be cold. the roadways here are wet. it'

i'll say first that susan terrence teaches and has taught for many years through the california poets in schools high schools like lowell, francis scott key elementary, and new traditions elementary school. she's currently using a baseball poetry through a graph on the san francisco giants community fund that is really creative, and i'm sure it excites the kids especially around world series time. and she's lived in the richmond district for 16 years. and i'll also call up david volpendesta. he's an author of four books of poetry, also richmond district resident. his translations have appeared in vulcan and a number of journals as well as tomorrow triumphant and clamor of innocence which he co-edited with [speaker not understood]. he also coed ted homeless not helpless, an advocate for many of our special [speaker not understood] groups. i wanted to say the third poet from the richmond, christopher could not be here with us, but we're really honored that david and susan are here with us. could you please come forward with alejandro as well? susan and david, please give us some thought
